"I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet all the artists who became a part of this project. Poets, musicians, visual artists, actors, dancers, and a even a lawyer leading a group of young photographers, they and their work were incredible and inspiring. But what was most beautiful was the generosity of spirit and the tradition of mutual support they demonstrated. They all knew each other and spoke of one another with respect and admiration. Their commitment to social justice was practiced not just in their work, but in their lives."
